Earth is awesome but humans are malignant
Humans disagree on many things, but we better agree on this deal quickly.

What makes this life so awesome? The answer to that question is complex and can feel hard to find when too much of our time is spent buried beneath human bullshit. Yet the reality of life on Earth is that it is inherently awesome.
Why? Because on Planet Earth life has everything it needs to survive and thrive. As far as we know, this planet alone bears the diversity of wild landscapes and wildlife, breathable air, drinkable water, a plethora of edible food options, etc., that sustain human and other life forms.
Or...it once did. Human impact is rapidly destroying the life-sustaining features of Earth. And no—the life-killing changes we're seeing in 2026 are not natural, cyclical or unavoidable. To the contrary, science proves that they are man-made, irregular and avoidable. The devastation of living resources on Earth falls 100% on the shoulders of humanity and the choices we make.
According to Live Science and the Smithsonian Institution, approximately 777 animal species have been confirmed extinct since 1500, but estimates suggest that as many as 150,000 to 260,000 species may have perished since then. The current extinction rate is significantly higher than the natural baseline rate, indicating a crisis in biodiversity.
That's bad news for life on Earth. We can still turn this ship around before we commit global decimation...and other nations are taking wise, bold steps to do just that. They are adopting policies that support biodiversity and protection, supporting the health and sustainability of life and resources on our planet...India, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, for example.
But not The United States of America. The national policies that are currently being pushed by the White House in the U.S.A.—historically one of the wealthiest and most powerful countries in the world—are doing the opposite. While other countries are busy taking life-sustaining actions, our country is adopting destructive, toxic and unsustainable policies that decimate life and biodiversity to prioritize personal profit, power and comfort. It's beyond embarrassing. It's humiliating for Americans, criminal for biodiversity, and insane for Planet Earth.
Sound dramatic? That's because it is. Just my opinion.
