The link between meditation and chakras

Our chakras are largely responsible for how we feel in life and kundalini meditation can help us optimize their impact.

What do the chakras have to do with meditation? Everything...in the Kundalini tradition anyway. By keeping our chakras vibrant—which is part of what kundalini meditations do by design—we support ourselves in expressing the best version of who we are in the world. I unpack this in my latest book Kundalini Meditation but here's a hint:

Chakras are centers of vital energy in the human body, areas where multiple nadis (energy centers) converge. In the kundalini tradition there eight of them, seven that run from tip of tailbone to crown of head, and the eighth or auric field that holds them all. Each chakra has its own qualities and characteristics. How we express ourselves in life is linked to their health and vibrancy because we express either the high or low forms of each chakra's characteristics.

As an example consider that the Root Chakra at the end of our tailbone carries the energy of our foundations. It has to do with our sense of safety, security, stability and grounding. When this chakra is vibrant, we tend to feel stable in ourselves, safe and secure in life, and connected to solid ground despite circumstances. When the energy of this chakra is out of balance, stagnant or dampened, we can feel unstable in ourselves, unsafe and insecure in life, and like we're not on solid ground even when we are.

Kundalini meditation helps awaken and nourish our kundalini energy—that integral part of our being that is linked to our chakras and is responsible for our inner and outer vibrancy. We take a deep dive into chakras and how kundalini meditation impacts them in my latest book, Kundalini Meditation. Pick up the paperback or if you prefer, look for the ebook to drop on Amazon this Autumn.
